Bitcoin ATMs continue to rise in popularity worldwide, and as of June 2022, there are more than 34,000, and an estimated 20,000 Bitcoin ATMs were installed in the last 12 months alone.

Even though Bitcoin ATM usage is increasing, the reality is that some consumers are still slow to use them because they feel that their neighborhood Bitcoin ATM is not user-friendly.
As with any innovation over the last 50 years, there’s always plenty of room for improvement, and Bitcoin ATMs can be made more user-friendly, especially if these tips are followed.
Tip #1 – Clear Instructions Are Needed at Each Bitcoin ATM
It doesn’t matter how old or young they are, many consumers are ready to start using a Bitcoin ATM, but they have one thing stopping them, the average Bitcoin ATM doesn’t have clear instructions.
Most operators install their Bitcoin ATMs anticipating that consumers will already know how to use them, but the reality is that those units are missing out on potentially hundreds of transactions per week from consumers who are ready to use them but don’t know how to get started.
Each Bitcoin ATM should provide consumers with clear instructions on what they need to do to start using them.
For example – The Bitcoin ATM should inform consumers that they will need a Bitcoin Wallet and that wallets address, to buy or sell Bitcoin at that machine.
Tip #2 – The Features of The Machine Should Be Clearly Explained
Since most consumers are still new to buying or selling Bitcoin, Bitcoin ATMs should clearly explain the features that the machine offers, including what the ATM can, and cannot do, so that the consumer doesn’t walk away with a bad experience.
Tip #3 – Transparency Regarding Fees
Another thing that consumers should expect up front is transparency about the fees that they will be charged at the Bitcoin ATM.
Consumers should have a clear understanding of the fees that they will be paying because those consumers who had to pay unexpected fees may feel ‘cheated’ and won’t return for another transaction.
Tip #3 – Provide Easy resources to Get Customer Questions Answered
Last of all, but most important, another way to make Bitcoin ATMs more user-friendly is for the operator to provide their customers with an easy way to get their questions answered.
This can easily be a YouTube video or a website that offers typical questions and answers that a consumer may have before, during, and after they’ve used the Bitcoin ATM.
One thing is for certain, Bitcoin ATMs are not going away, and by making them easier to use, operators can increase their customer base by providing them with a Bitcoin ATM that’s easy to use and answers all their customer’s questions up front.
