GetGo Cafe + Market, a convenience store chain with more than 270 locations throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, northern West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana, will install 125 Bitcoin ATMs, according to a press release.
Guests can already convert their cash into bitcoin via BDCheckout through the Bitcoin Depot app and at roughly 7,000 kiosk locations in 48 states and 10 Canadian provinces.
GetGo is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and operated by Giant Eagle Inc., a supermarket chain.
“Providing our guests with high quality foods and the best in convenience is our top priority at GetGo,” Brandon Daniels, public relations manager at GetGo, told this website in an email exchange. “We continually look for new ways to better serve them, and new technologies are just one of the ways we can exceed their expectations.”
While the company does not accept bitcoin or cryptocurrency payments at its stores, it has offered self-checkout kiosks in its stores, including its made-to-order kitchens.
“From these kiosks, guests can place orders from our expansive fresh, made-to-order menu, and they can customize their orders by adding/subtracting ingredients or modifying how the dish is prepared,” Daniels said.
